I love the truth in the beginning of this video:

• Developers are not as invested as you think they are, if they act that way—they are likely lying to you
• Developers don’t always care about what you care about, usually it’s what excites them: how are they coding, what are they coding, languages, learning, etc

Lean into what developers are actually interested in. The more you make it about only what you care about, the less they care about it. I know this through experience. If you can turn a developer’s excitement into what you care about, you’ve found the secret sauce! It’s symbiotic relationship, or it’s not.
